Here’s a question for everyone: Are there any books that could be on someone’s shelves that would either be a deal-breaker or a deal-sealer?
Also, it’s like the twenty seven days until Americus comes out! Ah!
This is totally shameless, but I don’t really have anything else to post this week:
Would anyone be interested in commissioning me to do some artwork for them? Freelance work has dried up a bit the last couple months, and SPX is coming up real soon. It’d be nice to have some cash flow for the trip. Or if you don’t want to commission me, then maybe you have an art director friend that would like to hire me?
I’m really good at drawing dumb stuff like poop jokes and I have recently been mastering my skills at suicide gag strips. Anyhow, if you’re interested, either post a comment and I can e-mail you, or drop me a line at: jonathan [at] oneofthejohns.com and we’ll work something out.
Anyhow, I know that money’s tight everywhere for everyone, but I figured it can’t hurt to ask. If nothing else, it was an excuse to draw myself with muscles, which is always hilarious.
It’s the LAST CHAPTER!!!
Last week my boyfriend helped me put together this standing desk.
I’d made some shelves from the rest of this piece of 2′x4′ sheet of plywood (for an IKEA shelf that apparently got discontinued) and had this large pice of wood left over. You can pretty much figure out how to build it from looking at it, The legs are 6 fott long 1x2s, and the ledge at the bottom is glued & nailed in.
I’m hoping this will alleviate some hunching-related back problems, and also kill me less fast than sitting at my desk every day will- two of the deadliest scourges of the cartooning lifestyle! And as an added bonus, I can work in the bedroom with A/C now.
